Millennium 2025: Challenge and race against time
This year 2025 will remain in memory as a vintage of adaptation and reactivity for the Domaine Robert Roth. Faced with a somewhat capricious weather, we have been able to adjust our practices to make the most of what nature has offered us. Discover the particularities of this vintage, the challenges faced by our team and the first impressions on the quality of this promising harvest.

Record harvests in terms of precocity
For a long time now, we have not known as fast harvest Hey! Started on Monday, 25 August, completed on Thursday, 11 September, they establish a new record in terms of precocity. Not in their start (we had attacked on August 24 during the 2020 harvest) but in their closing. Never before had we finished a harvest the first fortnight of September. By way of comparison, harvests 2024 had started on 9 September!
Favourable weather conditions
The precocity and speed which marked these 2025 harvests explained by Two factors:
The first is in the weather conditions we experienced throughout the season. A mild spring causing an early awakening of vegetation, an early summer marked by strong heat and drought, and then July and August more contrasted in terms of temperatures and precipitation: all these elements which favored a fast and homogeneous vegetative cycle for all the grape varieties, all accompanied by a low pressure of the mildew or of theoidium: appreciable conditions after the proofing vintage 2024!
The second factor is related to the rather low yields of this 2025 harvest and to the rainy conditions we experienced in early September. On one side of the grapes with early maturity and closer than usual between the various grape varieties, on the other side regular and sometimes heavy rains (more than 90 mm on August 21!) which began to weaken the health status of the grape harvest.
In summary 📝
Like an air of racing against the clock
These conditions have forced us to be very responsive; 18 consecutive working days, the efforts, the thoroughness and the good mood of our more than 30 harvesters on two thirds of the surface, Christophe and our harvesting machine on the remaining third and that even on Sunday, not to mention a team of cellars that has been able to adapt to the workload and the many program changes dictated by the weather.
Adaptability and flexibility were the key words to ensure both the right organization while managing some urgency on the ground.
