OLLWILLER
Grand Cru
Name
An emblematic terroir of Wuenheim, the Grand Cru Ollwiller is one of the great terroirs on which we chose to pursue our adventure. In 2020, we launched one of our most ambitious wine-growing projects: two new plots designed around Riesling, the completion and the return of traditional culture in shallow.
His Landscape
South facing, the Grand Cru Ollwiller extends over the heights of Wuenheim. Its slopes offer an open and bright landscape, particularly favourable to the vine. It is here that the rows of Riesling and a plot of very high-density chadas are now joined together, reborn a method of cultivation formerly widespread in Alsace.
Its soil
Its marno-grey terroir, deeply marked by the sandstones of the Ollwiller, offers the vineyard a particularly interesting environment. The soil is lightly worked on in order to preserve a ventilated structure and allow a spontaneous flora to settle. In the narrow rows of our plot in shallow, the work even returns to its rhythm in the past: here, no tractor, but the strength of the horse to maintain the ground throughout the year.
