Wine Vectors
Emotions and Values
The wine range of Domaine Robert Roth faithfully embodies the work and aesthetics sought in the vineyard and cellar: precision, strong identity, sensitivity, balance and diversity. A range built in three axes: Les Terres de Grès, the first wines of the Domaine resulting from the marriage of several plots; Les Lieux-Dit, cuvées parcellaires and faithful transcriptions of the three historical terroirs of the Soultz vineyard; The Compositions, pure creation wines placed off the beaten path. So many cuvées cut for gastronomy, sharing and often guarding. Pure wines with an established and obvious style, vectors of emotions and values.
OUR GAME
LAND OF GREATER
Selection and assembly of plots on sandstone floor
Race ❘ Specific ❘ Balanced ❘ Pointed ❘ Salivant
The combination of low calcareous soil, slope and exposure to the south of Mittelburg create particularly refined and precise wines with ripe and warm acidity. The mineral structure built by limestone gives its wines a remarkable extension and balance, ending on the ends of almost salty mouths and with a lot of texture, a true affirmation of the terroir. With a large material, the wines of Mittelburg are perfectly cut for gastronomy. On the reserve in their youth, they will reveal themselves with a carafage but will take their full dimension with a few years of patience. Under no circumstances will they fear the protection of one or two decades in the hollow of a good cellar.

EDELZWICKER Sandstone Land 2023
Assemblage of terroirs but also of grape varieties whose distribution changes with each vintage. It wants to be fresh, simple but not without structure, ample while being dry. A pleasant and humble balance.
SYLVANER Sandstone Lands 2022
Unjustly neglected, the Sylvaner is capable of producing fleshy, persistent and complex wines. This one is part of it, with its aromatic herbs notes and its subtly roasted and saline finish.
PINOT WHITE Sandstone Lands 2023
Fruit and freshness. It gives the impression of chewing in a ripe and delicately acidic yellow fruit, like the mirabelle. From the old Pinot Blanc vineyards of Kaltacker.
PINOT GRIS Sandstone Lands 2022
It is the power and generosity that characterize this dry and captivating wine. Wine of texture, very present in the mouth with a lot of volume and a finish that remains energetic, it gives the tone of appetizer to cheese.
RIESLING Sandstone Lands 2022
A wine of precision and brilliance, its lively and tonic character recalls citrus fruits, while its end of mouth makes it long salivate and makes it appetite. It comes from the young vines of Mittelbourg.
GEWURTZTRAMMINER Sandstone Land 2022
Powerful and spicy as its name indicates (« Gewürz » : spices in German), its oriental profile associated with a round mouth, soft then subtly full-bodied in the finish invites the journey of the senses and of the table.
PINOT BLACK Sandstone Land 2023
Red fruit with soft tannins but well present. Although it is crisp and on the fruit, it is a real Alsace red that uses chamber and not fresh to fully appreciate its full dimension.
PINOT BLACK ROSE Sandstone Earth 2023
Coming from the young vines of Pinot Noir from places called Kaltacker and Hirschacker, this maceration rosé is lively and tender at the same time. Particularly attractive with its notes of wood fruits, it is the wine of the beautiful summer days.
CREAMANTS
Effervescent traditional wine

TRIAS - Brut Nature 2019
Developed according to the traditional method, the Cremant « Crude sandstone » is a white of vintage white from old vines of Pinot Blanc (90%) and Auxerrois (10%) whose vines root on soils resting on pink sandstone rock dating from the Trias. Raised between 18 and 36 months on slats, its rearing, its low extra brut dosage and its vinosity make it a full and lively Cremant. A balance that makes it very versatile: perfect for aperitif, on a seafood tray, with fresh cheeses or fruit desserts.

BRUT de GRÈS - Extra Brut 2023
Developed according to the traditional method, the Cremant « Crude sandstone » is a white of vintage white from old vines of Pinot Blanc (90%) and Auxerrois (10%) whose vines root on soils resting on pink sandstone rock dating from the Trias. Raised between 18 and 36 months on slats, its rearing, its low extra brut dosage and its vinosity make it a full and lively Cremant. A balance that makes it very versatile: perfect for aperitif, on a seafood tray, with fresh cheeses or fruit desserts.
COMPOSITIONS
Wines of assemblages from singular vinifications
Fruits of ideas and inspirations concretized in wines, the compositions are free and iconoclastic creations, carefully imagined and elaborated with the aim of pushing the lines. Cuvées outside the alsacient canons, in several ways: assemblage of grape varieties, unique or plural selection, special vinification... A wide palette that helps to sharpen the wine expression field of Alsace

SULZER 2022
In Alsatian dialect, Sulzer means « the Soultzian », citizen of the city of Soultz. This « cuvée Village » is an assembly in equal parts of Riesling, Pinot Gris and Sylvaner from the places Orschwillerbourg and Mittelbourg raised a year in lightning. A tight profile with material, gullying and great ally of the table. His label is a tribute to Victor Roth's first label (1905-1970), founder of the Domaine.

HORANGE 2022
Orange, or « Orange wine from Hornstein » is a white maceration wine from Muscat, Gewurztraminer and Riesling exclusively from Hornstein. A maceration of 20 days before pressing allows to extract the orange shade and the fine but affirmed tannins, so characteristic of orange wines inspired by a millennial winemaking method from Georgia. After an 8-month old oak barrels farm and then bottled without filtration, Horange reveals all the power of the Hornstein region by its tonic and tannic dimension.

MONT SAINT GEORGES 2020
In the heart of Orschwillerbourg was once the village of Alswiller, razed in the 13th century, known for its chapel dedicated to Saint George and spared until the Revolution. Today, only the name of the hill, now covered with vines, bears witness to this memory. Planted by Sylvaner and Pinot Gris collected together, Mont Saint Georges is then fermented and raised 18 months in oak barrels and then bottled without filtration. Large rich and concentrated wine, with roasted and mineral notes and long and salty finish.

ESPRIT 2018
The meeting of two terroirs and two grape varieties which everything opposes but which the very solar vintage 2018 managed to gather. Gathering at the harvest on 24 October 2018 of Riesling of Mittelburg and Gewurztraminer of Orschwillerbourg, both vintaged in over-maturity, three weeks after the harvest ended. Fermentation and breeding of 23 months in new oak barrels, bottled without filtration or collage on August 6, 2020.

VINS OF PLACE
OLLWILLER Grand Cru
Sliceful Marnes of the Eocene, South-East
Powerful ❘ Single ❘ Impose

RIESLING Ollwiller Grand Cru 2022
The Grand Cru Ollwiller, named after the castle built at its feet from 1180, owes its classification « Grand Cru » to
its historicity and to the extraordinary personality of its wines, especially from Riesling. This marno-grey combustible, exposed to the south-east and beaten by regular winds, meets in all respects the delicate requirements of Riesling which, on the Ollwiller, asserts with a strong and remarkable maturity, never hindered by drought or rot. A long fermentation of 18 months under wood is necessary to build Ollwiller in a dry and digested style, held by fine acidity and roasted bitters, enhanced by very singular notes of saffron and turmeric. Much different from the Riesling from the limestones of Mittelburg and Hornstein, however, its guarding potential is no less, quite the contrary: the Grand Cru Ollwiller has all the qualities of a Grand Vin de Garde.
MITTELBOURG
Greso-calcar conglomerates of the Oligocene, full South
Race ❘ Specific ❘ Salivant
The combination of low calcareous soil, slope and exposure to the south of Mittelburg create particularly refined and precise wines with ripe and warm acidity. SYLVANER Mittelburg 2022
Planted on the most pentuous part of the Lieu-Dit Mittelbourg, this old vine of Sylvaner alone proves that this grape variety, often underestimated, is able to reveal its terroir in a magnificent way. Low yields on the vine as well as a breeding on total lees in lightning for a year in the cellar give this wine a frank and sweet mouth, subtly salted in the final with notes of blond tobacco and laurel.
PINOT GRIS Mittelbourg 2022
Organic wine

The association of Pinot Gris grape variety and Mittelbourg terroir is perfectly complementary. The generous and rich consistency of Pinot Gris, emphasized by a herding on lees and lightning, is here balanced by the finesse and tension brought by the limestone nature of the soil. Discreet in the nose, it opens quickly with a light carafage. The attack in the mouth is greedy, hot, then it leaves room for a dry and salivating profile that opens the appetite.
PINOT BLACK Mittelburg 2022
Organic wine

A jewel of the Domaine's red wines, this Pinot Noir is collected on a small plot rooted on the sommital plateau of Mittelbourg in confidential quantities. The perfect balance between the fleshy density of the fruit and the precise tension of the terroir is sublimated by an 18-month breeding in the best oak pieces in the cellar. A matter, a presence and a persistence that make the Pinot Noir du Mittelbourg a great Red of Alsace.
RIESLING Mittelburg 2020
Organic wine

The limestone in the basement of Mittelbourg Hill, combined with its altitude and its exposure at midday, are the components conducive to the maturation of the slow and total Riesling. Maturity sublimated by a long fermentation and an exceptional 23 month breeding on total lees and oak lightning. A rare extension, a fineness chiseled by a ripe acidity, all covered by a consistent material. The spearhead of Domaine Robert Roth.
GEWURTZTRAMINER Mittelbourg 2022
Organic wine

In sharp break with the aesthetics generally encountered on this grape variety, the Gewurztraminer Mittelbourg, exclusively from an old vine planted on the sommital and solar part of the limestone lands of Mittelburg, reveals an aromatic smoke and spicy. The texture, precision and power in the mouth mark the minds. A perfectly dry balance, patinated a lightning breeding, which allows to rediscover the gastronomic potential of this great grape variety.
HORNSTEIN
Greso-calcar marnes of the Oligocene, full east
Tonic ❘ Smoke ❘ Carpented
The limestone soil rich in marnes and the fresh exhibition in the East make Hornstein wines particularly toned and powerful. Marked by smoky notes in the nose, their structure in the mouth is first characterized by a certain roundness at the beginning of the mouth, very quickly followed by a feeling of warmth and finally on a slightly bitter, salty and smoky touch that can be called d的umami, a term derived from Japanese culinary vocabulary. In their youth, the Hornstein wines will sassage with a carafage or can calmly loosen with the years.

RIESLING Hornstein 2022
Old vine firmly rooted in the Hornstein limestone marnes, this Riesling plot reveals the most noble aspects of its exposure to the East. Raised a year in lightning on total lees, cooler than his Mittelbourg cousin, the Riesling Hornstein is lively and chiseled with notes of rifle stone, with both acid and mineral mouth that evolves towards an iodized and smoky finish, in perfect agreement with the most beautiful products of the sea.
MUSCAT Hornstein 2022
Organic wine

Full East, in the heart of the Hornstein Dit-Place, are two small plots planted side by side, one by Muscat Ottonel and the other by Muscat Petits Grains. From these plots, the Muscat Hornstein is a dry and powerful wine with a strong bouquet, on notes of sage, bergamot and licorice. The mouth is frank and toned, with a citrus finish and very elegant and persistent aromatic herbs.

BINSBOURG
Trias pink and yellow sandstones, full South
Angular ❘ Pointed ❘ Flaring
This pink and yellow sandstone hillside of the Trias (-250 million years) is exposed to the South. It dominates the small village of Jungholtz from its 410 m above sea level, which ranks it among the rare Alsace crus planted at more than 400 m. This terroir enriches our range of local wines with a white from Riesling and a red from Pinot Noir. The light, silica-rich soils associated with the freshness of the altitude and sunshine offer air wines with a lot of straightness and precision.

RIESLING Binsburg 2023
Rooted from the sandstone rock, on the first foothills of the Hautes-Vosges, the Rieslings of Binsburg overlook the small village of Jungholtz at more than 400 meters above sea level. Fermentation and farming in oak lightning on total lees for a year bring magnitude and patina to this austere and rocky terroir, whose wines mark by their uprightness and verticality.

PINOT BLACK Binsburg 2023
Guarded by two bicentennial oak trees, this Pinot Noir plot lies in the middle of the coast of Binsburg where the pink and yellow sandstone rocks mix. This terroir, with light soils rich in silica, offers an airy red wine, slender and full of energy, with discreet tannins, carried by a tension of great elegance. One-year old half-maid rearing in order to respect the finesse of this sandstone red.
ORSCHWILLERBOURG
Pleistocene sandstones, south
Rich ❘ Sweden ❘ Generous
With its deep soil and filtrate made up of slender scrambles deposited by the melting of glaciers and its south-facing exhibition, the Orschwillerbourg offers always rich and rich wines. With a velvety and unctuous texture, they are distinguished by their fruit, generosity and volume in the mouth, without lacking in structure and balance thanks to the delicateness of the sandstone which gives them the necessary finesse. Very pleasant from the first year of the bottle, the guard will further increase their scale and generosity and will be able to spread over a good ten years.

PINOT GRIS Orschwillerbourg 2023
The Pinot Gris grape variety and the Orschwillerbourg terroir are mixed here in this semi-dry wine in full scope. Its aromatic reminiscent of pastry, quince jelly, until it reached smoked notes with air. The mouth attack is round, warm,
finish is energetic and long. It is a wine of great maturity, powerful and balanced.
GEWURTZTRAMINER Orschwillerbourg 2022
The deep ground of the Oschwillerbourg gives a very spherical and velvety dimension to this Gewurztraminer that finds itself from the first nose: confit, ripe, enchanting...
